• The Flash

    The Flash

To quote Mr. Sunday Movies' thoughts about this:
What a hollow and ghoulish product. Yuck.

  • Emily the Criminal

    Emily the Criminal

Took a bit to got rolling, but then I was really hooked.
    Aubrey Plaza is great!

  • John Wick: Chapter 4

    John Wick: Chapter 4

    That slapped.

  • John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum

They change the setting quite a lot for beautiful locations, but after a truly amazing first hour(-ish), it still becomes a bit repetitive with John basically dancing against bad guys again and again, before handing out headshots.

    Still entertaining nonetheless.

  • John Wick: Chapter 2

    John Wick: Chapter 2

This movie gets soooo bogged down by lore in the second half & I couldn't care less about the villain.
Rome stuff still slick and fun.

  • John Wick

    John Wick

It's such an entertaining film. Simple, but effective & of all the ones I've seen (all but 4) probably the one with the greatest 'emotional stakes'.

But the dialogue feels like it was written by a 14 year old, trying his best to be cool.😄😄

"And let me tell you one time John had a hard stare at a guy & he died from that, but he prayed to God with his last words, because he was dying so hard & God came,…

  • The Boy and the Heron

    The Boy and the Heron

    "Wie Wir Leben Wollen"
...ich verstehe, dass "Der Junge Und Der Reiher" deutlich griffiger daher kommt..aber wie stark der japanische Originaltitel den Film unterstreicht und kontextualisiert!

  • Murder by Decree

    Murder by Decree

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

I mean, most of these Jack The Ripper stories are basically the same. So is this.

Also the movie is quite stunning in the way it actively accuses the monarchical system as inhuman...but in the end settles for 'Well it's the status quo and radical abolitionists are just as bad soooooo...just don't do it again, okay?🤷‍♂️'.

But Christopher Plummer is truly a GOAT and makes this mystery worth a watch.
    (Despite some very cliché directing.)

  • Doctor Who

    Doctor Who

A movie, that feels like an at best mid-tier 'Doctor Who'-episode was bitten by a radioactive 'Terminator 2'-clone.

  • TÁR

    TÁR

Over two and a half hours, pretty light on actual plot and very inside baseball in regards to the world of classical orchestra.
Yet the writing & lead performance are so astoundingly good, that I was hooked from minute one until the (second) credits rolled.
It felt...real. I don't know how else to put it. Like me in the audience, I'm a fly on the wall.
    What an experience!

  • Atomic Blonde

    Atomic Blonde

It's one of those movies, where it kinda baffles me, how very into it a lot of people seem to be.
Yes, the cinematography & action choreography are very pleasing to look at.
Yes, David Leitch loves his scenes lighted in beautiful colours.
Yes, James McAvoy does a slimy bastard better then most.

But underneath that...there's not much here. Just a bunch of characters so flimsy, that I struggle to feel the slightest empathy towards their situation, let alone care about…

  • Weird: The Al Yankovic Story

    Weird: The Al Yankovic Story

    It's a good fun time.
But honestly not as fun, as I hoped it be.
Especially in the middle the novelty wears off a bit and it starts to drag.
