What a garbage truck fire of a movie this is. There was not one aspect of this film that I didn't find atrociously bad. I've watched films that were never even able to get into film festivals that were better than this.
Very enjoyable 60s British crime film. Great set decoration of the period, good cinematography, and a very 60s jazz soundtrack. Starring Stanley Baker (Zulu) in the lead as a career criminal who is in prison and regularly spars with the head guard, played by Patrick Magee (A Clockwork Orange, Zulu, Seance On A Wet Afternoon). The film is a mix of a prison movie and a heist movie, two of my favorite genres.
Directed by Joseph Losey, who had relocated to the UK after being blacklisted in Hollywood by Senator Joe McCarthy's House Unamerican Activities Committee.
