While the film has some good acting, exciting skating, and an engaging pace. the film's tone is uneven, not letting itself be totally comic yet still managing to present domestic violence for laughs in an offensive way. Also, the film fails to support what I would think is an intended theme of the movie, as expressed by Tonya in her final monologue: that there is no truth, that everyone has their own version of the truth. With the exception of Shawn's obvious fabrications, there isn't a whole lot of disagreement between Tonya and Jeff concerning the extent to which Tonya was involved in the attack on Nancy Kerrigan.
