Rather interesting for a GODZILLA reboot; somewhat of a response to Garett Edwards (slightly superior) American Godzilla reboot, but also a response to the Fukushima nuclear disaster, as well as a pretty intelligent and witty satirization of the Japanese government's failure to aptly handle the plant's meltdown. There's some pretty miraculous filmmaking on display here. Unfortunately, there's also a pretty substantial portion of the film that drags to a complete halt, hence the pretty middling star-rating. With better pacing this would easily have gotten a four plus.
