Really enjoyed doing Cinemonster's 'I will watch these 100 damn movies in 2016' thing. Particularly early in the year it was like having a shelf of amazing movies in front of you and throughout the year it's meant I didn't ever get stuck just watching easy choices or movies from one particular place.
So for this year I'm trying for a real range of countries, directors and periods and I need quite a few English language ones in there because a reasonable amount of my film time is while I'm multitasking with work. So it's a mixture of homeworky 'I guess I should eventually see that' ones and ones that are more fun.
I probably have enough massive long ones…

I probably have enough massive long ones on here, also I have 20 directors I'm already working through on another list so haven't chosen any from them which rules out stuff from the most prominent directors. I'm going to try a few other challenges as well, I'm already doing the counterfeit letterboxd season one but I want to do rosalind's 52 week female directors one and maybe the film school rejects one as well. Dont know yet about using opportunities to kill two birds with one stone, I think I'll try and keep them seperate.
I think I've ended up with a decent mix of countries and eras and not got too many that will sit there and sit there like a few on my last list did.
anyone got any thoughts on these?
