Jackie Brown ★★★★★

A quiet movie in some ways--yes, I am using that adjective for a Tarantino movie--Jackie Brown in some respects is about growing older and weariness and an understanding that the fear of starting over can be almost insurmountable when you're on the wrong side of 45.

He probably could have gotten any big name stars he wanted at the time, but instead cast two working actors in age-appropriate roles, and the film works so much better for it.

It's perhaps my favorite of Tarantino's films.
