It might be unfair to judge the merits of a film on its predecessor, but I would argue that it is valid, because without the first film, the second couldn’t exist. Peninsula might be a decent way to kill 2 hours at your nearest cinema, but compared to Train to Busan, Peninsula is a much more generic zombie action film that simply does not possess the same endearing qualities as the original, despite its admittedly emotional climax. Peninsula’s tagline is literally “Escape the Apocalypse,” so maybe it was my bad for expecting a little bit more.

Not to out myself as a former comic book reader, but the worst part of this movie was how they chose to portray Cassandra Cain.

Before making this movie someone should've asked themselves, what is a more empowering characterisation: a girl who can best the toughest opponents without breaking a sweat, who's fighting against the abuse that’s been inflicted on her, or a foul-mouthed twelve-year-old pickpocket who cowers behind the grown-ups whenever a fight breaks out?

so they included an angsty duet featuring a montage of their lives together and a freaking forehead touch yet they still expect me that both mal and evie are straight?? yeah whatever disney
