The Fog 1980
Borderline masterpiece that narratively kneecaps itself ever so slightly by capping the body count early on. An extra 10-15 minutes of ghoulish fog mayhem would’ve paid dividends imo. But I could also be wrong here because it does seem to get better and better with every rewatch and I am finding myself drawn back to it more and more often as the years go by.
Masterpiece or not, it’s another dazzling jewel in Carpenter’s crown.
To summarize: it’s foggin’ great -
Bodies Bodies Bodies 2022
Was my first Alamo Drafthouse viewing so I was a little enraptured with everything else going on and ended up slightly disconnected from the movie itself.
A lot of it played like gangbusters, some of it fell flat, and some of it I was miles ahead of, but the only thing I’m absolutely sure of is: I want to see more Rachel Sennott.

Hereditary 2018
A dread-soaked masterpiece of evil that is as heavy dramatically as it is utterly terrifying. This was my most anticipated film of the year and it did not disappoint one bit. Will probably see it 3-4 more times before it leaves theaters.

Prey 2022
Dan Trachtenberg has got the touch/vision for giving audiences what they want even if they don’t know any better. Stripped-down, lean, mean and absolutely bathed in blood, PREY is handily the best since the original and everything I’ve wanted from a Predator sequel my whole life. Not perfect and not groundbreaking, but an absolute blast start to finish. No coffee necessary this morning!
