Andrew’s review published on Letterboxd:
This movie has such incredible visuals, a great score and strong performances from all involved that made it a really enjoyable watch. However, the writing and characters are extremely weak. Much like Wright’s previous film, Baby Driver, this feels like it would have fit in better among the films of 10-15 years ago. The “message” of the movie is apparent from the first five minutes and is never really twisted or properly contemplates. There is a twist at the end but it’s so easy to spot and doesn’t really add much to the film itself. None of the non-main characters have any level of depth to them to an annoying degree.
You know what I wanna see? I wanna see a movie where Thomasin Mckenzie is just having a nice time. Let the girl just vibe.
