    A Star Is Born

Very uninspired in terms of story and character, I called absolutely everything before it happened. Bradley Cooper is fantastic as always, although I'm not entirely sold on Lady Gaga yet. Shallow is a legit banger and the first time they performed it live gave me goosebumps.

A Star is Born starts off promising but it just doesn't go anywhere exciting or new. The presentation is well done but, again, if you're going to do the same, familiar story, you've got to really make up for it elsewhere like Rocketman did.

How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World

The visuals in this are truly breathtaking, rivalling the high quality of animation of recent Pixar films. I really liked this film, but 8-year-old me would have adored it!

Really exciting action sequences and it has a great sense of motion and energy. The story and villain are somewhat lacking and familiar to the other entries in the series, but I was still very impressed.

I'm going to happily jump on the bandwagon and simply state that this film is a masterpiece! It blows my mind that this was only Tarantino's second feature, he developed his talents so much from Reservoir Dogs.

    Mean Streets

Despite being a little clunky and light on plot, Mean Streets is still a great early Scorsese film. Containing possibly one of my favourite De Niro performances and many firey, fast talking characters that are just so much fun to watch.

Scorsese directs with great confidence and I especially appreciated a brilliant moment of subjectivity when Harvey Keitel's character gets blind drunk. I don't think I'm going to rewatch it anytime soon, but I'm glad I decided to pop it on once I saw it on Netflix.
