So, it's the wildest, funniest, most originally shot Superhero movie in a looooooooooonnnnnnggggg time. Wow it's refreshing to go to the cineplex and not hate the greedy studios for pumping out shit film after shit film. Thor: Ragnarok is exactly what every comic book film should be... It's a shame it only took 100 cracks to get it right. Taika, take a bow. This is some Wachowksi-style, grade-A shit right here.
Exactly what I expected and wanted from the Agatha Christie classic. A quaint whodunit with fresh zest and cheeky mystery. The bar wasn't particularly high, but Branagh met it in droves.
A real conversation I heard upon leaving the cineplex...
Old Guy 1: What a waste of money!
Old Guy 2: It said it was a comedy.
Old Guy 1: I thought it was a crime movie.
Umm... did you two *clearly in your 60s* dudes miss the whole Agatha…
Lady Bird is one of the most relatable protagonists in recent HS coming-of-age memory, at least for me. As compared to Edge of Seventeen, I felt Gerwig's vision for LB played out quite fluently with consistency. It has an authentic, non-hokey feel to it although it's a simple (thereby similar) story. Saoirse Ronan gives a splendid performance on top of it all. Bravo, Greta.
