First of the Showa films other than the original that I've seen. Boy, is that a tone shift! Some weird dead ends in the script, but I figure pointing them out is besides the point. It is fun.
I totally get it if you don't think you need to see yet another film about the Holocaust, but this one genuinely has some new things to say. The subjects really grapple with what is trying to be accomplished with war crimes trials. Emotional, but also very thought provoking.
