Paul Capewell’s review published on Letterboxd :
A lot of incredibly talented people were involved in basically every aspect of this film, and yet I came away from it knowing (quite like the first one) that I have no desire to see it again, or try and understand anything deeper from the story. Some of the set design is absolutely wonderful, and I do like how we have a (male) lead protagonist who is quiet and calm and uncomfortable in his own skin. But it was kind of like how a lot of videogames invent a kind of cool world with tons of little setpieces for the sake of it, and then try to drape some semblance of a story over it, almost as an afterthought.
I'll never tire of Jude Law in a tweed suit playing a learned 'elder', but Dumbledore he ain't.
