Jennifer Tilly! Ridiculously weak meta-textuality! John Waters! Ed Wood references! A great Shining gag! Puppet kung fu!
A teenage boy struggles with his own homosexuality. Freddy Krueger turns up for a bit.
So conflicted with this one. It just doesn't work as a comedy film as it's simply not funny enough. It doesn't really go for a parody of the giallo genre as such, seems to be more concerned with re-doing iconic or famous scenes from particular films (the New York Ripper first scene 'parody' was particularly predictable and less of a parody and more of a Family Guy-style 'hey remember this!"-excuse for a reference). That said, it has an air of authenticity, the performances are fantastic and the ending was great. But completely over the place.
