One of the GOATs of psychological horror. Even after seeing this multiple times over the years, it still continues to deliver each and every time. The only thing more horrifying than this film, is the Academy Awards not giving Collette a nomination and win for her performance.

Simply put, this is one of the most refined films I’ve ever seen. While I saw this the week it came to Netflix, it somehow made more of an impact for me the second time around. It could be age, time, life events that made this connect to me on a much deeper level.

Probably the most overlooked Wes Anderson film, in my opinion. What works for me is the intimate story that Anderson tells of just three brothers dealing with trauma through a forced exploration of self and one another.

Yes, the metaphors and dialogue are too on-the-nose at times, but the encompassing tone and style around it suits it well. It's a decent stylistic detour and a change of scenery for Anderson's filmography and one that I hope he revisits as now more refined writer.

You also can't go wrong with a track from The Kinks backing your slow-motion shots of sprinting to catch a departing train.

An 8 minute short film about why robots need to unionize.

My quintessential comfort comedy film. Can throw it on anytime and have a great laugh. Despite seeing it about 20 times, I can still catch new details from time to time. Got the 70mm villagers involved in the shannigans and perhaps its high time for a community watch along?

    I think yarp.
