Exiting the theater felt like walking on a cloud. A beautifully told and well made story. The first thirty minutes I felt like I could understand any detractors because it was slow and sentimental. But the story continuously builds and builds beautifully. There isn’t a scene that doesn’t belong or add to something. Nearly ever actor has a time to shine here no matter how big or small their roles are.

The characters always feel lived in and real. Even…

Liked it, laughed a lot and was thoroughly entertained but this has one of the most wildly unfocused scripts for a movie that I’ve seen in a while in a very entertaining way.

The first third is relatively straight forward slowly increasing intensity until something happens that blows everything open. This made it much more fun and interesting to watch. Just building and building with crazy things happening every second. Every actor is game here and the director is a…

Crazy how this is one of the best movies ever. Just incredibly thrilling, enjoyably violent and a grand old time

As usual with my experiences watching Joanna Hogg this movie was initially slow, then I loved it and now I’m emotionally devastated. So much to think about and process. I know I’m rewatching this along with the souvenir movies soon so maybe I’ll write something more circumstantial then but this is a marvelous bit of movie. Tilda Swinton is excellent here.

“Suze and I are in the middle of something here and if I knew what it was I’d tell you…but I don’t”

Cannot explain exactly why this movie has stuck in my brain and not left it. Some of it probably lies in the joy the last scene gives me culminating in one of my favorite final shots of the year. I wanted to rewatch this to see if it would connect more for me especially since I was dozing…

Crazy concept with a crazy trailer that I remembered so vividly as “Andrew STOP!” movie. Holds up pretty well with some really cool camera stuff and visuals. I would’ve liked more character work but the spectacle is great

I don’t know what the hell i’m gonna write here but here goes. Loved this. Loved the weird things it does, loved the things it does that I don’t understand, loved what I did—ugh. Meets Rocky Horror at the beginning of it all and yanks it into some more psychedelic but nearly just as subversive world. There’s a lot being done here and it all felt beautiful and at least satisfying in the end. A lot of people claim this…

Saint Maud inches forward slowly but surely with an intensity. Everything matters and it is intentional for when the shit hits the fan. Sometimes people are chosen for something and sometimes…people are just kinda fucking sick. Excellent debut. Morfydd Clark’s performance is excellent. That ending is…Whoever’s responsible for this getting dropped on epix with like zero fanfare is so weird and twisted. Loved it. Scared the shit out of me too

Weird as hell like the first but with an increased level of confidence in what it’s doing. There’s so many great jokes and scenes in this. We love you Joan Cusack. Her storyline is a precursor to Big Little Lies when you tilt your head and think about it
