• The Tragedy of Macbeth

    The Tragedy of Macbeth

probably one of the most beautiful movies I’ve seen this year. Every performance was stellar but ESPECIALLY Denzel and Frances. Oscars are deserved all around here. I’ll be honest, I didn’t understand 90% of what they was saying because Shakespeare so damn dramatic and annoying but STILL. It’ll probably hit better on a rewatch after I study the play or something but anyways. What a picture.

    C'mon C'mon

In this movie mike mills brilliantly captures the importance of relationships a child has with older relatives on both sides of the coin. but It’s not just that. He weirdly moves around focus to capturing a moment rather than zeroing in on one thing. Another person might find this messy but it almost reminds me of how I think sometimes. Thoughts interspersed with memories old and new, articles and books I’ve read and the feelings i felt in that moment.…

  • Dogville

I feel like I just got hit by a freight train but I enjoyed it. Incredibly well acted and interestingly written. Over time I was able to understand why this movie is the way it is but whew. What a draining experience. Nicole is STELLAR though. I really loved her here.

  • In the Cut

    In the Cut

kinda feels a bit obvious to say but this movie was hot. That’s definitely a REAL erotic thriller. Meg Ryan and Mark Ruffalo are great. The movie is extremely haunting. Wow.

  • Child's Play

    Child's Play

the whole ‘nobody’s ever gonna believe you’ thing is so scary because it’s true! Nobody is going to believe a doll came alive and killed people and honestly that makes this movie creepier. Chucky continuously coming back was cool. Andy is VERY traumatized though. Like wow.

  • Picnic at Hanging Rock

    Picnic at Hanging Rock

Really trippy and well directed. Honestly don’t know what else to say about it other than wow.

they’re both fucking crazy…but they are free

  • The Beatles: Get Back

    The Beatles: Get Back

Been watching this with my parents for three days straight and it’s been a delight the whole time. I’ve always enjoyed the Beatles to an extent but this really makes me want to do a deep dive into all of their work. The restoration is really good and while I understand people being annoyed about the smoothing of their faces, I don’t care. Im here for the people not to see every wrinkle. I definitely would recommend this to any…

  • Encanto

What a refreshingly unique and fun movie. Honestly, when the title card hit I knew I loved this. The characters were fun, the songs were great and the animation was spectacular. The clímax was also really refreshing for me as it presents a much more realistic outcome than I’ve come to expect from Disney movies. I highly recommend it.
