This was my first Akira Kurosawa film and certainly won't be my last. This was a giant rollercoaster of emotion that I will never forget. This movie had me laughing, scared, and depressed. For a movie that is nearly 3 hours, I never was bored and it kind of flew by. It has some of the greatest performances ever. The score is genuinely one of the best and is utilized so well. One battle scene in particular uses the score beautifully. The cinematography is gorgeous and the use of color is a chefs kiss from me. I will probably bump my score up to a 5 on a rewatch and I highly recommend this if you haven't seen it.
