How have I not seen this film before? Utter perfection.

A harrowing tale of greed, money and corruption. One the greatest anti-capitalist films ever made.

It amazes me how much I enjoy watching this film after seeing it dozens of times. Alongside Fury Road it's the peak of modern blockbuster cinema. I hope Rian Johnson will get to make another movie of this scale one day.

"The best silent film" is a high praise but Sunrise does live up to it, although not in the ways I've expected it to. It's much more cheerful and delightful than the movie I imagined it to be. With great acting, fantastic use of music and imaginative visuals it is sure to conquer your heart.
