I love how this movie starts by bringing two major characters back to life in the handwavy-est fashion, kills off the previous protagonist offscreen and proceeds to actually be a decent slasher movie.
Michael Myers (lame mask notwithstanding, though it is so bad) is threatening here in a way that he wasn’t in the original’s direct sequel, more Jaws than Jason. The niece hook is ridiculous, as is the ending, but Michael stabbed, impaled and crushed his way across town in a perfectly satisfactory fashion. I guess my bar for Halloween sequels is set pretty low.
Gotta say though, I was disappointed we didn’t get to see more of that priest character, was getting hyped for a team-up between him and Loomis.
