I KNEW that would be the opening scene as soon as I heard Hampton Fancher was writing it haha. Certainly visually spectacular. Mix was a tad loud, could be the theatre I was in but I doubt it. Takes it's time, pacing is similar to the original so that's nice. Don't see it going over too well with the general movie going audience though but who cares about that. Last piece of music nearly made me hard. Gonna need a rewatch to fully digest this, it could easily go up.
Liked it even more now on a rewatch. Damn, this is good and it obviously reminds me of some really good movies from the glorious 80s. Two really great performances from Dan Stevens with his steely azure blue eyes and Maika Monroe, who I'm sure we'll see more of in the near future. Always good to see Lance Reddick. Love the climax, the setting of it and the music, the music is on the whole right on the money. Stevens is damn near unrecognizable from Downton Abbey, it's almost uncanny.
I like this movie a lot. I prefer the first group of girls, I think the writing is stronger in this part, and we get a little bit of Eli Roth who I think is quite funny in his short appearance. The lap dance is impressive I have to say. Then in the second half of the movie we get the awesome car chase, which is one of the best that I've seen. Kurt Russell is good and his hair looks quite nice too. All is good.
