The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

I wanted to watch this for years and it wasn't even that good :(

Classic example of unnecessary narration undercutting an entire movie

Despite being a classic, this gets slept on. Much better than I expected

  • His House

    His House

    ★★★

Interesting social message/application of the genre, and fairly scary in a few scenes especially early on, but generally pretty derivative. Also, really stupid ending

    Apollo 11

    ★★★½

You know how Letterboxd gives you links to places to stream movies? Well the Apollo 11 page links to "Moon Landing: Apollo 11" on Amazon, which is very much a different film, of which I confusedly watched 20 minutes, and which is NOT very good.

  • My Best Friend's Wedding

    My Best Friend's Wedding

    ★★★

Really cool opening sequence. Then it's fun, but mostly generic 90s Hollywood, until the end, which is genuinely moving (the VERY end undercuts this a little with a feel-good epilogue scene that feels tacked on, but fortunately doesn't really take away from the actual end).
