Nice slow build up, with effectively dangled creeps, a suitably decrepit location, and a path with a direction that remains nicely uncertain. 
The reveal initially made me burst out laughing but I warmed to it, and was put in mind of an even more low key-immigrant needs a place to stay-strange shit occurs-movie called Amulet (2020)
I have started to think more about what a young Joanne would feel watching horror movies (cos old Joanne is often boringly numb to terrors of all kinds 😂) and I think she would have been spooked a few times by this well crafted feature debut
