A sad but beautiful little story about family, fatherhood, and the death of traditions in the face of new economic realities. Well made and well acted.

More than the surreal struggle of the fisherfolk's kingdom. A masterwork; a good job for Camilleri's first debut feature film.

I didn't ever imagine a colorful boat can make me feel so sad..
Neo-Neorealism. Damn.

Kept on waiting for this to take a melodramatic turn that would undermine it's subtle nature, but it never came and that ending was beautiful

Beautifully shot story tackling the struggles of economy, the changing fishing industry, holding onto your identity. Loved it and also made me hanker after a fish supper!

A remarkable film, especially for those interested in food sourcing issues and the shifting nature of the seafood industry. Or in globalization. Or in class. Or in traditional cultural practices that are rapidly vanishing. It's humbling and inspiring to see what this filmmaking team created. This is easily one of the best films I've seen this year (though it's a 2021 release), and I'm excited to see director/editor/writer Alex Camilleri's next film.
