don’t usually call movies pretentious and i understand what kaufman was aiming for. i think this is one of those films that try to be deep on purpose and leaves viewers watching analysis videos and the meaning of this film. in reality it’s just teaching us how difficult it is to find connections with people and once we build a connection with someone and see their flaws they become less perfect to us. basically nothing can ever live up to our expectations. the first 40 mins were a bit slow!
