I watch a lot of movies. When you grow up in the country with 3-ish channels you get books and movies.

Dark and gruesome in places. Loosely based on Edgar Allan Poe’s work.

If Succession had been a single season and the family had gotten what they signed up for.

Enjoying it. Until we had a fight scene where I could barely see. Action sequences in the dark take me out of the action. They bore me. They take me out of the movie as I wait for someone to turn in a light, go outside, or the fight to be over so I can see again.

Overall, it was a sleek, measured yet forgettable movie.

I was skeptical about seeing this movie because it starred Adam Sandler. I took a chance on it because it wasn’t an Adam Sandler Movie. It had high scores on Letterboxd and I had seen a couple of people I follow online mention it was enjoyable.

I could say something about the plot. But it was unmemorable. Man makes series of extremely poor decisions. Outcome is as expected. I didn’t hate this movie for any of the reasons I was…

A series of people making the worst decision they could in every situation. With jump scares.

Moral of the story: Don't ever leave your phone.
