Wildlife ★★★½

Carey Mulligan, just... WOW. Her best performance so far, and one that totally makes the heart of the film. Her character's decisions might be questionable, but her search for happiness eventually becomes inspiring. Based on a book by Richard Ford, there's something of REVOLUTIONARY ROAD and even DEATH OF A SALESMAN in this story (especially in the relationship between Gyllenhaal and Oxebould, both also great).

Some moments might seem a little distant and without focus, but maybe this is less to do with Dano's direction and more with the tone required for telling this type of story. And if you thought FIRST MAN's final shot was perfection, just wait...
