In retrospect, Taken is one of the better no-nonsense, actor-vehicle action films of the past fifteen years. Liam Neeson makes a fantastic protagonist - shocking to read Besson almost cast Jeff Bridges in the role.
His relationship with Leonor and Kim is still unbearable, but the fact he does all that he does in spite of their insufferable behaviour is commendable. And the fact that his daughter would follow U2 around Europe is enough reason for him to just stay home. Eurgh.
