Phil Gyford’s review published on Letterboxd:
Before watching, all I knew about this was that it was by Charlie Kaufman and that two of the characters would be in a car at some point. It was eerie, bleak, and confusing, and I was totally absorbed. Loved it.
I really enjoy films/shows that don't entirely make sense, that contradict themselves, and that layer one thing on top of another in odd ways, so long as there's enough conventional narrative to keep me interested. Just like this. I felt a little too lost towards the end but forgave it for the previous couple of hours.
While the leads were all good, I'm enjoying seeing David Thewlis in more things – four in the past couple of years – than I have for a long time.
