Batman v superman dawn of justice. Starring ben affleck, henry cavill, amy adams, diane lane, laurence fishburb, jeremy irons, jessie eseinbergh.
Let me start by saying that its been a roller coaster ride. For the past 3 years because of the fact i grew up reading these comics and I'm a huge batman fan. So to watch these two legends on screen together was a comic book fan, movie fan, and child hood dream come true.
The movie takes place after the events from man of steel. Where everyone was introduce to superman. Everyone is blaming superman for the destruction of metropolis and the many casualties. In the middle of that you have an older, wiser, and beat up bruce wayne. Running through the destruction. To find out his wayne enterprises building has been demomished. One of his employees is stuck. He then sees a little girl standing around looking for her mom. He goes and saves her before part a big chunk of concrete collapses. Bruce wayne/batman vows to stop and defeat superman. Because of the destruction he has cost. There people that accept superman like if he was a God, and thinj he is doing a greater good. But then there are the higher ups. Like congresss and military personale that thibjs superman is not right or a good fit to be on earth. Thinks that he shoud leave. So through the film you see clark kent/superman confused and frustrated due to everything that is happening. You see bruce/batman battleing his own personal demons.
First I'm going to say don't pay no mind to the score on rotten tomatoes. Those are critics that are either marvel fans, or old people that don't like these types of film. So you go a head and watch it for yourself and decide your own opinion. The score on rotten tomatoes is not warrant for this film. If i had to say 70 to 80 score would have beeb more ideal for the film.
The film is not bad but its notnperfect by any means. It has it flaws. But it's a good film. The problem woth the film is the editing during the fight scenes. Zack snyder did a great job shooting the fight scenes but at times it was all over the place. The film looks great visually, and the colors are amazing and the set pieces are great. I love the look of that film. It gave it a man of steel vive and a vatman vibe. But there was editing problems and the story was kind of weak at times. Dialogue was. It seems like ben affleck at times just stood in shots and you expected gim to talk but he hust stayed quiet. The same goes for henry cavill. I totally agree that zack snyder is not a good story teller when it comes to the writing process. Hes great at telling the story visually and through action. My biggest let down for me was the fight between batman and superman. So much hype and it was a let down. Don't get me wrongbi was awesome watching them beat the crap at each other and thenpart where batman grabs the big piece of porcelain and smashes super man head. Was a big omg moment. The reason it was a let down for me was because it was short, batman did not say my favoritequote from the dark knight returns comic. Where batman tells superman Garry “i want you to remember the one man who beat you“. So basically in my opinion the whole fight was a big tease. Plus it was their first time meeting and facin off. To me a true dark knight returns fight scebe should happen after they have done the justice leagues film. And if warner brothers decides to make the dark knight returns into a live action film rated R. But to me the fight was one big tease and short. Plus they rushed it and batman gave in to fast and suddenly him and superman became Bff's. I did not like dooms day as the big bad villain. For that they shoukd have just revived general zod and have him face superman, batman, wonderwoman. Along with his minions. But the fight against doomsday was good im not going to lie. I did not kike his look. If i was to pick out the stand out star of the film it would be gal gaddit as wonderwoman she really changed my mind about her as the amazon princess. When i heard she was going to be wonderwoman i said bad chouce. But to me she was the scene stealer in the film. Esoecially when she shows up to help batman and superman. Ben affleck prooved everyone wrong. He was great as batman and as bruce wayne. He did a great job and took the role and made it his. Amy adams is a joy to watch. Even though she did'nt have much to do in the film but i enjoy her potray of lois lane. Jeremy irons is perfect as alfred, sounds like alfred. I hust wish he had more to do. Jessie eisembergh and lex luthor was annoying and juvenile. To me he was the weakest link in the film. I mean aight lex was already hatching his plans to destroy superman and relwase evil upon thenworld in the form of doomsday. But he did not convince me as the evil villian. To me he soubded like a cheesey mad scientist that you see in cartoons. Also last but not least it seems like zack snyder did't know when and how to end the film towards the end.
So there goes my long review to batman v superman dawn of justice.
