Phil Newton’s review published on Letterboxd :
Kaiji owes money to a loan shark and is invited to take part in a number of gambling challenges to clear his debt by a corrupt corporation who are using slave labour to build an underground city! Episodic in structure, and with far too much padding and detailed exposition, this feels like a pitch for a TV series. Despite some familiar faces from Death Note and Battle Royale, this is much less exciting than it should be (but then, how thrilling is a game of cards on screen?) and is really quite dull.
