My 83 year old father-in-law insisted my wife and I watch GUN WOMAN. It’s about a doctor whose wife is raped and murdered by a crime lord’s sex-crazed necrophiliac son, so the doctor trains (through torture) a drug-addicted prostitute into becoming the ultimate assassin as part of his plot of revenge. He’s going to sew a gun into her, induce a state like death, and deliver her to the villain’s necrophilia club. Once inside, she must pull the gun parts out of herself and kill everyone inside, and she has 22 minutes to do it before she bleeds to death.
A perfect film I know up and down, this was my first viewing of the 19-minute-longer “integrated cut” and I think I love it even more now. Herbert West is even more unsympathetic, almost catty in his antagonism toward Megan. LOADED. And David Gale’s Dr. Hill is even more of a Karloff RKO supervillain, with powers of mesmerism. It works!
