    Come True

    Jaws for people with no sleep discipline.

    Would have went ballistic for this in high school. Otherworldly doors opening up to black space have that strange sort of mix of familiar/homey yet scary, maybe it reminds me of the Are You Afraid of the Dark? intro. Scarier because it's familiar and nostalgic, like it speaks to a deeper fear you've had all your life rather than something more immediate and temporary.

    Hard to judge something like this without knowing the creator's relationship and history with religion. I don't know if aspects of this were simplified for audience members not familiar with Catholicism or if it really comes from a more spiteful, judgemental place. Far be it from me to have a go at anyone who has been hurt by a religion. I'm not delving into the usual depiction v. approval shit because I've been in the long process of "de-redditing" myself.…

    A heartbreaking and validating sensory experience.

    Most injustices today exist due to a lack of empathy and desire to understand another human's perspective. I cannot emphasise just how grateful I am to see people using film and other means to express and capture these disregarded perspectives.

    Also as someone who grew up in a religious home, it's always alarming to see anyone who isn't neurotypical associated with demons and spiritual evil. You'd think after centuries we would have moved on from this bullshit but I can personally testify that this mindset still exists.

    Not sure if everything makes sense either, but it could just be due to the long sprints this movie takes without brakes, my slow ass can't always keep up.

    I get that this is supposed to be stressful and the jarring cuts are put to mostly good use, but it just feels a bit too fast, kind of like a treadmill program with peaks…
