PinkWhiteNights’s review published on Letterboxd :
there's a scene in this movie that is really just filmmaking in its finest form.
when we get 'the big reveal' the narrative switches between the two time periods.
one progresses with the other and not once is it predictable or forced in anyway. it's so subtle, yet so profound and powerful.
this is down to Casey's perfect performance. I'm gonna just go ahead and say that this is in the five greatest performances of all time. if he doesn't win the Oscar...I don't even know man.
it's truly so hard to pick a favourite between moonlight and this. at this point, I'll be pleased with any winning best picture. just please, please don't let it be la la land.
ps : does this feel like a less wes anderson version of a wes anderson movie to anyone else, or just me?
