The Wind That Shakes the Barley 2006
Extremely disheartening and tragic examination of when a movement with so much power against an oppressor splits because one side is examining things at the class level and the other isn’t.
Loach frames war casualties in a very harrowing way where every death is felt.

Finally finished this behemoth of a “making of” documentary and it’s pretty amazing. No fluff, just footage of the entire production process. The highs and lows. Love seeing Sven light a seen and all of the dynamics on set, it’s clear these people love making movies together and honestly feels like any set I’ve been on just scaled up. Essential viewing
