    Downton Abbey: A New Era

    ★★★★

There is a lot going on with a lot of people in this movie, but gratefully there are only a few major plot lines to juggle. If you can keep it all straight, I believe you will be entertained by revisiting Downton and the excursion to France. Sure does look sumptuous and inviting in nearly every frame.

  • Color Out of Space

    Color Out of Space

    ★★★★

Color Out of Space bears a pretty whacked out sci-fi premise that provides Nicholas Cage another opportunity to play an unhinged character in a situation in which he is way over his head. It’s also terrifying as one would hope from a story by H.P. Lovecraft.

    ★★★½

The team behind American Underdog have scored a touchdown with this football sports drama based on legendary quarterback Kurt Warner. This movie is a step in the right direction for this production company.

  • Sicario

    Sicario

    ★★★★

Sicario is a taut thriller about an FBI agent caught up in shady exploits in the war on drugs on the US Mexican border. Director Denis Villeneuve delivers a suspenseful, near flawless film full of moral conundrums coupled with Roger Deakins spectacular cinematography. The cast is spectacular, especially Emily Blunt—further proving she can do anything.

This is not a gory shoot ‘em film glorifying violence like a video game movie. Instead, we are thrown into a more realistic world depicting the ugly consequence of violence rather than celebrating it.
