I have so many questions but most pressingly: Just because they could’ve, does that mean they should’ve?
A splendid (perfectly cast) cast and stunning visuals make this live-action re-make worth the price of admission. With more backstory and depth of characterization and a few forgettable new musical numbers, there are hits and misses when it comes to new additions but overall it works and works very well indeed.
My very articulate review of George Miller's latest: Holy s^*t, that was a goddamn masterpiece. I'm still practically speechless after watching it two hours ago so I'm afraid that's the best I'm able to do at conveying my feelings for the film at this point. Hopefully I'll get my brain back at some stage in the future. Mostly so I can see it again.
A solid origin story elevated by mind-blowing effects (you've never seen anything like this), Giacchino's excellent score, and a well-cast, talented group of actors led by a great Cumberbatch who is clearly having the time of his life playing the magical, Mister/Doctor/Sorcerer Supreme. The humour stands out too. Was worried Strange would be a little too Tony Stark-esque but both the script and Cumberbatch's portrayal make it something different yet just as appealing.
