Pond’s review published on Letterboxd:
The cinematography and lighting? Very nice. Those accents and that makeup? Very bad. I don’t really even like the songs that much and most of the acting is kinda annoying. Don’t get me wrong this didn’t become a lasting memory for nothing the knife fight is incredibly well done and the sets are all super good. I know the 60s were a different time but talkin about Puerto Ricans like they came from another country and not even casting any (save for Rita Moreno) doesn’t sit right with me.
