I think you get a nostalgia for a certain horror era and I am of an age that makes me a sucker for the like of I Know What You Did Last Summer, Urban Legend and Final Destination.

Scream is the pinical of this era of Horror. An iconic villain, powered up with horror tropes and cleverly given a clumsy, irattic energy that really plays the line between reality and fiction. Add in the mystery of who the killer is, an excellent scream queen performance from Campbell and the fun of deconstructing the horror genre to make film nerds squee then you have a winner.
