the most 7/10 movie i have ever seen

basically a dumber (better) version of fincher

a kind of weird juncture between outsider art and experimental cinema, where i find myself longing more for the former than the latter. surprising how similar the new film is to this one - the empty sets and opaque narratives have a good deal of overlap, but i have to echo most people on here and say that this is decidedly minor

mostly middling miserycore but fantastic brutal ending

i love this world where the only black people are corporate sellout race traitors or MK ultra style street terrorists and nothing in between

some pretty incredible editing but feel like it gets a little aimless in the back half - common issue with brakhage featurelengths i have, though i think this one is more successful than the average.

no idea what this about but tis cool, as most soviet animation is

neat, love how much the visuals pop on this bad boy

some admittedly fun tricks in the back half of this, but i think the first half kinda slogs aside from the admittedly cool as fuck dream sequence. glad i finally go to check this out!

some insane kills, musical cues, and plot points aside (which, to be fair, is a lot of the appeal to argento), it's kinda whatever
