Good performances from a good cast. You can sometimes feel the budgetary limitations of having been a made for TV movie in the mid 90s, but everyone involved seems to understand the importance of the story they are telling.
It's ridiculous how much better X-MEN: FIRST CLASS is than the rest of the X-Men team films to date. It embraces the source material, lets the superheroes have costumes (actual costumes, not generic black leather), and while there's certainly a fair share of "will the world accept us?" it also lets the characters, you know, enjoy being superheroes.
