Barry Daulton’s review published on Letterboxd:
Watched this movie a lot as a kid, i mean if you are my age, you were a fan, well at least until the you know incident. Funny how harmless what he did compared to so many others now.
Burton was the perfect choice of director, hard to tell who had more influence with the direction. Its campy its absurd and Elfman is perfect for both.
You know I love camp, but the humor is a bit too absurd. So many cameos. My favorite is Twisted Sister, I love that song.
Overall it is a fun movie, sure its over the top, but it's not boring. Some may find Herman annoying and I get that, but if nothing it is important because it really launched Tim Burton.
