The Thin Red Line 1998
I've never been a fan of narration except in rare cases like Taxi Driver. Mallick usually comes close to making me tolerate it. Mallick's style of camera work works really well in the context of contemplative war action. It's no Apocalypse Now but war's torment can be felt here.
