    Jurassic World Dominion

After reading and watching dozens of negative reviews, I went and saw this again. I’m not sure if I’m watching the same movie as some of these other people.

    Jurassic World Dominion

So many delicious practical effects. Yes more please. Has elements of all the previous movies and books baked into its dna, while elevating rather than retreading. Maybe the best Jurassic sequel so far. Glad they didn’t over use blue or the atrociraptors. I do wish they’d have fixed the fuckin pyroraptors eyes though. So doofy looking.

  • Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers

    Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers

I feel like this did for animation what Scream did for horror. A modern Who Framed Roger Rabbit. I loved Rescue Rangers, both movies and the show. My sister and I would play the Nintendo game over and over, I even bought the Xbox version and beat it with my wife. I’ve got my old cheerios prize chip and dale figures and had a Gadgette doll. I also love lonely island. I was surprised by many of the cameos like…

Holy shit. Great horror, great satire. More like this please

  • Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

I would have never anticipated a marvel movie to speak to me on such a deep level. Maybe it’s because I have depression, but the “are you happy” theme really got me. Often times we are not happy with our circumstances, but you need to make do with what you’ve got. Also, this makes being a superhero feel dangerous, something that’s missing in most these movies. The deaths are brutal and I’m here for it alllllll day

  • Sonic the Hedgehog 2

    Sonic the Hedgehog 2

Goddamn this movie is way better than it has any right to be. Growing up the sonic games were for me what the Mario games were for most people, so I’m glad to see he’s getting quality movies. And the team behind this were clearly huge fans of the game series. I’ve seen a lot of people complain about the cabin scene, but it’s clearly there to show tails and sonic bonding. Just like the first movie, Rachel is one of the best characters. Plus, the cinematographer is Jason Trost’s brother. The FP forever!

  • The Northman

    The Northman

Goddamn am I tired of this trend in Hollywood to make movies unnecessarily long. Cut thirty minutes from this please. Great movie, there’s no denying that, but it’s obvious this is Robert Eggers first action movie. The action is a little slow, like they didn’t have enough time to really memorize the choreography. I also wish they’d lingered on the gore a little longer, considering the length of this. This is how you do a film about a bad guy. Take note Sony.

  • The Ice Demon

    The Ice Demon

The poster is VERY misleading. You don’t really ever see the demon, and honestly this movie might be better without it. The emotional beats of the plot are heavy enough to be their own horror movie. Not all the themes are fully explored, but I enjoyed the time I spent with this. No jump scares, and a very creepy opening that it unfortunately never reaches the height of again, though most the scares are slow burn and atmospheric which was nice.
