American Fiction 2023
Finally a movie I loved. Took a few days sksksk. I really think this is one of the movies of the year. Perfect balance between satire and melodrama. Some story beats could’ve used some polishing but this is a movie. I really enjoyed the acting and atmosphere. One of the best directorial debuts in a while. Sterling K. Brown is so hot in this movie…..It’s sickening.

The Boy and the Heron 2023
Very underwhelmed honestly. If not for his amazing visual style, this movie would’ve been a chop. I wish it was more compelling but it’s simply not. Elemental being the best animated movie of the year gagged me a bit. Spiderverse and this just are good not great.
