Pete Talbot’s review published on Letterboxd:
I don't want to give too much away, but after reading the original "reference" book that the movie is inspired by, Newt and Tina end up getting married and being together for a long time. As far as I can tell, this movie has more or less come in and out of the movie going consciousness, although it did make enough to earn itself a sequel. This is a well made movie with a great representation of 1920's New York and very good CGI beast performances that mix puppet work with special effects. Excitement for the sequel in my household let this to be my April Movie of the Month and I had a great time rewatching it, going through the extras and doing a little extra outside research. I even started writing a short story based on one of the entries that I'll post on my site in the next couple of weeks about wizard interactions with the Yeti.
