Pete Talbot’s review published on Letterboxd:
I'm pretty annoyed at myself for skipping this one for the last five years. I hadn't seen it because when it came out I wasn't much of a fan of Matthew McConaughey or Reese Witherspoon, even though I had been blown away by Jeff Nichols previous movie Take Shelter. Over the last few years I have seen more of McConaughey and Witherspoon to appreciate what they can do as actors rather than characters in romcoms. I'm glad I finally got around to seeing this, Nichols only makes beautiful movies with a ton of depth and a touch of action or genre bending. He is one of a few directors of the current generation that seems to only put out well made movies that are fantastic to watch along with Edgar Wright and Matthew Vaughn to name a couple off the top of my head.
