Pete Talbot’s review published on Letterboxd:
It's a little harder to go along with the outlandish concept of this movie as it was to go with the outlandish concept of Snowpiercer. There are the great touches of playfulness, humor and a well thought out message and I'm not against the message being told but it's a little tough to go along with such a highly publicized competition. The competition is actually pretty glazed over as it's declared over before you realize it is being judged. This does pull out some fantastic acting from Tilda Swinton and Jake Gyllenhaal and is definitely worth the watch for the adventure of the first half of the movie. This definitely keeps Bong Joon-ho on the map of the most interesting directors in the world, perhaps my favorite from Korea.
