This is more of a list of espionage movies than spies. This is mostly a list of Carol Reed, Alfred Hitchcock and Bond movies with the cut off date being the Pierce Brosnan era of Bond movies. I chose that time because that's when the genre changed into something else. I wanted to give the movies before that change their own showcase because they are quite fun and well made but I don't think it's fair to compare these movies to others that are completely different animals.
