William Karlsson’s review published on Letterboxd:
"Death has come to your little town, Sheriff."
It's been 4 years since I first watched Halloween. That and Drag Me to Hell, were the first horror movies that I ever watched.
This movie holds up very well. The atmosphere is good, they keep building towards the kills, and they show bits and pieces of Michael. It's kinda like Jaws, where they save the best of him for the finale.
The opening scene is one of the best, and I love the idea behind it.
The backstory for Michael is very interesting and Donald Pleasence really sells the evil of Michael when he talks about him
The score is iconic and instantly recognizeable.
Some of the acting is plain bad, but that's only problem I have with this movie.
I've heard that Halloween II, 4 and H20 are good, so I'll be checking those out.
