Fellini explores this incredible juxtaposition of tone. Although, there is some understandable distain for this film, so much of it rang entirely true for me. Fellini crafts a beautiful blend of elegance and nightmare.
There are these fantastic moments of pure joy and heartrending dread. Fellini utilizes color to enhance this disparity as well as to compliment his dreamy world in Juliet of the Spirits. What is so fascinating is how he uses these same colors as compete tonal contrasts.…
